Most Anticipated New February Book Releases by Genre
February book releases are right around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited! I love scrounging through the internet and Reddit to see what people are most excited about and then adding it to my own never-ending TBR list.
There are some very popular releases coming up in the Fantasy genre and also by one of my favorite authors Tahereh Mafi.

Fiction February Book Releases
1️⃣ The Love Scribe
In The Love Scribe, Alice discovers a special power in her writing when her best friend finds love after reading one of her stories. In The Friendship Breakup by Annie Cathryn, Fallon Monroe, a mother of one, self-help book junkie, and budding chocolatier, must face her deep-seated fears when her best friend and their mutual friends ghost her. With wit and determination, she embarks on an emotional journey to figure out the ups and downs of friendship and decide between hanging on and letting go.

In Kelly Barnhill’s The Crane Husband, a fifteen-year-old Midwestern girl must take care of her family and younger brother while her mother, a talented artist, is enchanted by a mysterious six-foot tall crane. The girl must protect her family and change the story in this contemporary retelling of “The Crane Wife”.

Historical Fiction February Book Releases
1️⃣ The Porcelain Moon

Two women, Pauline Deng and Camille Roussel, are brought together in Noyelles-sur-Mer, France during the First World War. Pauline is trying to escape an arranged marriage while Camille is trying to escape an abusive marriage and a forbidden love affair. As their dangerous situation escalates, they must make a difficult decision that will bind them together for life.
🤩 Why I’m Excited: Wow! I love epic tales steeped in different cultures! Which makes this book an easy yes for me.

2️⃣ Victory City
In Victory City by Salman Rushdie, a nine-year-old girl is granted divine powers after a battle in fourteenth-century southern India and is tasked with creating a great city called Bisnaga. Over the next two hundred and fifty years, Pampa Kampana’s life becomes intertwined with Bisnaga’s, as she attempts to give women equal agency in a patriarchal world. The story follows rulers, battles, and allegiances, with Pampa Kampana at its center, as a testament to the power of storytelling.

3️⃣ The Woman With the Cure
In The Woman With the Cure, Lynn Cullen tells the story of Dorothy Horstmann, a doctor from a humble background who discovers the cause of polio and is faced with the difficult decision of whether or not to validate her colleague’s vaccine in pursuit of a cure.

Fantasy February Book Releases
1️⃣ Seven Faceless Saints
Rossana Lacertosa and Damian Venturi must team up to solve a murder mystery in the city of Ombrazia, where saints and their disciples rule with terrifying and unjust power. As they uncover a sinister plot, they must confront buried emotions and fight an evil that threatens to destroy everything in its path.
2️⃣ Radiant Sin
Cassandra Gataki, a disgraced member of a fallen house, reluctantly agrees to go undercover as Apollo’s plus-one at a week-long party hosted by a dangerous new power player in exchange for her and her sister’s freedom. As they form a fake relationship, they must also face a very real danger that threatens the heart of Olympus itself.
🤩 Why I’m Excited: I know Bookstagram or Booktok will make me want to read this book, so I plan on jumping on the bandwagon early!
3️⃣ Daughters of Oduma
In this young adult fantasy inspired by West African culture, an elite female fighter must reenter the competition to protect her found family of younger sisters from a powerful rival. With victory seeming impossible, Dirt must find a way to save her beloved Fam from defeat.
Science Fiction (Sci-fi) February Book Releases
1️⃣ Hopeland

Amon Brightbourne and Raissa Hopeland meet during a riot in London, and their lives become intertwined as they navigate the ever-changing 20th and 21st centuries. As they are torn apart by a misunderstanding, they must face climate change, new religions, economic and technological revolution, resource wars and mass migration.
In the end, Amon must choose between family and his fear of what the Grace will do to the woman he loves. Hopeland is a love story, family saga, tech thriller and science fiction novel that explores the woes and promises of this most astonishing of centuries.
2️⃣ The Destroyer of Worlds
In the summer of 1957, Atticus Turner and his father Montrose travel to North Carolina to commemorate an ancestor’s escape from slavery, while George Berry in Chicago makes a deal with a ghost for a miracle cure. Meanwhile, Hippolyta and her friend Letitia Dandridge take a research trip to Nevada with Hippolyta’s son Horace, and Letitia’s sister Ruby continues her double life as her white alter ego, Hillary Hyde. Finally, Caleb Braithwaite returns to Chicago, ready to exact revenge.
3️⃣ Arch-Conspirator

Antigone’s parents were murdered, leaving her father’s throne vacant and her militant uncle Kreon rising to claim it. Antigone is a captive in her uncle’s mansion, but she soon learns that no cage is unbreakable and sets out to reclaim her father’s throne and save humanity from the wasteland outside the last city on Earth.
🤩 Why I’m Excited: I love everything by Veronica Roth and I am sure this book will be an easy 4 or 5 stars for me.
Mysteries and Thriller February Book Releases
1️⃣ The Writing Retreat
Alex receives an opportunity to attend a writing retreat at the estate of a famous feminist horror writer, where she must compete against her former best friend for a life-changing seven-figure publishing deal. However, strange happenings at the estate soon lead to a disappearance, and Alex must race against the clock to uncover the truth and save herself.
🤩 Why I’m Excited: I love books that include writers in them and this sounds like a perfect cozy winter book to read!
2️⃣ The Last Tale of the Flower Bride
A man and woman, both with mysterious pasts, marry and travel to the woman’s childhood home, the House of Dreams, where secrets and lies threaten to unravel their marriage and endanger their lives.
3️⃣ I Have Some Questions for You
Bodie Kane, a successful film professor and podcaster, is invited back to the Granby School to teach a course, and is inexorably drawn to the case of her former roommate’s murder, which happened in the spring of their senior year. She begins to wonder if she knew something that could have solved the case, and if the real killer is still out there.
Romance February Book Releases
1️⃣ Secretly Yours
Hallie and Julian, who almost kissed as teenagers, reunite in their small town when Hallie is hired to revamp the gardens on the Vos estate. Despite their polar opposite personalities, they are drawn to each other and Julian is distracted from his novel-writing sabbatical by Hallie’s chaotic energy. When Julian finds an anonymous letter from a woman from his past, he is left wondering who it is from and if it will change their relationship.
🤩 Why I’m Excited: All I have to say is Tessa Bailey plus Grumpy x Sunshine = happy reader.
2️⃣ Just My Type
Lana Parker, a thirty-year-old dating and relationship columnist, finds herself single again and determined to stay that way. However, her high school ex, Seth Carson, a journalist, takes an assignment at her website and they find themselves in a battle of wits, writing an article series that goes against their respective dating types. With their combative relationship history and undeniable chemistry, their careers and hearts are on the line.
3️⃣ Someone Else’s Shoes
Two women’s lives intersect when Sam Kemp accidentally takes Nisha Cantor’s gym bag, containing a pair of expensive shoes. Nisha is struggling to keep her glamorous life after her husband’s divorce, while Sam is struggling to keep her family afloat. The shoes give Sam the confidence to realize that she must change her life for the better.
Non-fiction February Book Releases
1️⃣ Bad Mormon: A Memoir
Heather Gay, a businesswoman, mother, and television personality, recounts her journey of discovering the darkness and damage behind a picture-perfect life, while examining the relationship between duty to self and duty to God in her book, ‘Bad Mormon’.
🤩 Why I’m Excited: This title says it all! This February book release sounds like the perfect book to listen to on audio.
2️⃣ Enchantment: Awakening Wonder in an Anxious Age
In Enchantment, Katherine May invites readers to explore the restorative properties of the natural world, and to reconnect with their immediate environment in order to find the quiet traces of magic that can be found when we look for them. Through stories of her own struggles and the use of ritual and deliberate attention, May encourages readers to open the door to human experience and to find the beauty waiting for them.
3️⃣ The Climate Book: The Facts and the Solutions
Greta Thunberg’s The Climate Book brings together the wisdom of over one hundred experts to equip us with the knowledge we need to combat climate disasters and reveals how much we have been kept in the dark. She encourages us to act now, as we are alive at the most decisive time in the history of humanity and together, we can do the seemingly impossible.
Young Adult (YA) February Book Releases
1️⃣ These Infinite Threads
Alizeh, heir to an ancient Jinn kingdom, and Kamran, crown prince of Ardunia, find their lives changed when Kamran’s grandfather’s deal with the devil is exposed. Alizeh is taken to Tulan, where she must decide whether to accept a deal with the devil and become queen, or follow her heart and reunite with Kamran. Kamran, meanwhile, must avenge his grandfather and reclaim his kingdom, while hoping Alizeh has not become queen of Tulan.
🤩 Why I’m Excited: The first book, This Wolven Kingdom, ended on such a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the second book and see what happens with Alizeh!
2️⃣ Revelle
Luxe Revelle, star of her family’s fantastical show, is offered a deal by the son of Charmant’s wealthiest family: everything the Revelles need to stay in business in exchange for posing as his girl and helping him become mayor. Meanwhile, Jamison Port, an orphan with few memories, is desperate to learn what happened to his parents. When Luxe and Jamison accidentally meet, they risk angering the wrong person and discovering a truth that could break their hearts.
3️⃣ Wildblood
Victoria, an 18-year-old Wildblood, is denied a promotion to team leader of a tour guide group in a Jamaican jungle by her backstabbing ex. With the help of a renowned gold miner, Thorn, she embarks on a mission to prove herself and discovers mutual respect, affection, and eventually love. However, the treacherous jungle is full of dangerous obstacles that she must overcome in order to achieve her goal.
Which of these February book releases is your most anticipated?
