Cozy Books to Curl up with this Winter
Winter is one of my favorite seasons due to being able to be snuggled in a pile of blankets, sipping hot chocolate, and reading my favorite cozy winter books. Nothing beats that feeling of warmth and happiness.
There are so many winter novels that fit great in this time of year. I had such a hard time narrowing down this list, which I know is already crazy long! This is the ultimate cozy book list and I hope you can find your next favorite winter read.

Cozy Books to Read in Winter
1. The Holiday Swap
Identical twins Charlie and Cass switch places for the holidays, with Charlie looking for an escape from her reality baking show and Cass trying to hold her life together back home. As they trade lives, they find themselves in the mix with a rugged firefighter and a gorgeous physician assistant, leading to a recipe for disaster or a way to get their lives back on track.
2. Beartown
A small forest town, the hopes and dreams of the town rest on the shoulders of a handful of teenage boys who are competing in the national semi-finals of ice hockey. This match becomes the catalyst for a violent act that leaves a young girl traumatized and the town in turmoil, exploring themes of loyalty, commitment, and the responsibilities of friendship.
3. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
C.S. Lewis’ Narnia follows the story of Lucy, Edmund, Peter, and Susan as they discover a magical land frozen in eternal winter and join forces with the Lion Aslan to free it from the White Witch’s evil enchantment.
4. Shiver
Grace and Sam are two characters whose lives are intertwined with the wolves in the woods. Grace is fascinated by a yellow-eyed wolf while Sam is able to shift between human and wolf form. As winter approaches, Sam must fight to stay human or risk losing himself and Grace forever.
5. No Exit
College student Darby Thorne is forced to wait out a blizzard in a remote highway rest stop, where she discovers a little girl locked in an animal crate in the back of a van. With no cell phone reception and no way out, Darby must find a way to break the girl out of the van and escape, but who can she trust? Taylor Adams’ No Exit is a thrilling story full of terrifying twists and hairpin turns.
6. Near the Bone
Mattie and William live alone on a mountain, until Mattie discovers a mutilated fox and realizes that something dangerous is lurking in the woods. When three strangers appear looking for the creature, Mattie knows that William’s anger could lead to disastrous consequences.
7. The Overnight Guest
True crime writer Wylie Lark is snowed in at an isolated farmhouse where two people were murdered and a girl disappeared decades earlier. As the storm worsens, Wylie finds a small child in the snow and must search for answers while being haunted by the secrets of the house and her own.
8. The Tourist Attraction
Zoey Caldwell visits the Alaskan mountain town of Moose Springs, where she meets Graham Barnett, the grumpy owner of The Tourist Trap diner. Through a series of humorous events, Zoey and Graham discover a connection between them, and their story culminates in a sweet romance.
9. In a Dark, Dark Wood
Leonora is invited to the English countryside for a weekend away with old and new friends, only to find that the party is not alone in the woods and a sinister turn of events unfolds.
10. Rock, Paper, Scissors

11. Winterwood
Nora Walker has a special connection with the woods surrounding the town of Fir Haven. When Oliver Huntsman, a boy who had gone missing weeks ago, is found in the middle of a snowstorm, Nora is determined to uncover the truth behind his disappearance. However, Oliver has secrets of his own that he is desperate to keep hidden.
12. The Mercies
Set in 1617, The Mercies by Kieran Milwood Hargrave follows the story of Maren Magnusdatter and Ursa, two women who must defy the strict rules of their island in order to survive after the men of their village are lost at sea. As they form an unlikely bond, they must also face the danger of Absalom Cornet, a man sent from Scotland to root out alleged witchcraft.
13. Icing on the Lake
Kirsten makes a list of New Year’s Resolutions with her friends including must survive a month at their sister’s house, learning to ice skate better, and finding a hockey-playing winter-loving hottie to join them on a weekend cabin trip.
14. The Bear and the Nightingale
Vasilisa and her siblings live in a Russian wilderness where winter lasts most of the year. When her widowed father brings home a new wife from Moscow, Vasya’s household spirits are forbidden and misfortune begins to stalk the village. To protect her family, Vasilisa must use dangerous gifts she has long concealed, and fight against a threat sprung to life from her nurse’s most frightening tales.
15. Magic and Macaroons by Bailey Cates
Magical baker Katie Lightfoot investigates a mysterious voodoo talisman and a deadly witch targeting Savannah’s magical community, racing against the clock to find the talisman and the killer before it’s too late.
16. Booked for Christmas by Lily Menon
Novelist Sophia Hart and her loudest critic, Evan Wolfe, are forced to spend time together when a snowstorm strands them in Sophie’s cabin. As they get to know each other, Sophie begins to realize that Wolfe isn’t as odiously cynical as she thought, and she needs a sign that they are meant to be together.
17. Winter Fae Queen by Lexi C. Foss

Artica is hired to be an intern for the Royal Water Fae she is in love with, only to find out he is still as gorgeous as ever and has two equally attractive friends. As she deals with the three hotties, she must also contend with her water magic, which is causing all sorts of chaos in Santa’s workshop.
18. The Witch’s Heart
Angrboda, a banished witch, falls in love with Loki and risks the wrath of the gods. Together they have three unusual children with secret destinies, and Angrboda must decide whether to accept the fate she has foreseen for her family or rise to remake their future.
19. Girls Made of Snow and Glass
Girls Made of Snow and Glass is a story of two young women, Mina and Lynet, whose relationship is doomed from the start. Mina’s father has replaced her heart with one of glass and Lynet is created in the image of the dead queen. As Lynet displaces Mina as queen of the southern territories, the two must decide how to win back their relationship or defeat each other once and for all.
20. Wintersong
Liesl’s sister is taken by the Goblin King, so Liesl must journey to the Underground to save her. Along the way, she discovers a captivating world and a mysterious man who rules it, and must make an impossible decision before her fate is sealed.
